Dust In The Sun

A "lost masterpiece" of British folk.

It is said that in the summer of 1976, during the long heat, a remarkable record was made in a remote Welsh village.

It was never properly released.
Most copies were lost.
What remains is fragmentary, half-remembered, spoken of more often than heard.

Dust In The Sun is presented as that record.

A sequence of traditional songs, recorded in the manner of the mid-1970s English folk revival, shaped by the conditions of its making and the landscape in which it was set.

The album is accompanied by a novel set within the same imagined world. Together they form two perspectives on a single story.

Begin the story...

Chapter One In which a hawk writes light across the village,
three women weave the world into sense,
And a singer struggles to begin.
